New Member Orientation

Membership allows people to share in the organization’s burdens and responsibilities, as well as its rewards. Because members vote on the board of directors and lead campaigns, they hold not only policy makers accountable, but Brooklyn Movement Center staff and leadership as well. The membership puts democracy into practice by placing checks and balances on our privileges. Membership lifts power from out of the hands of a few people and spreads it among many.

BMC membership is open to anyone interested in building the power of working class people of color living and working in Central Brooklyn.
