Background Info:
Our world faces a crisis. BORDERS AND BARRIERS have appeared everywhere in our external world. Race and Class has risen to the top of our national agenda as a key concern. Community leaders are crying out for equity, not just equality, for a valuing of all lives. Recent studies in the food system also indicate a disturbing plantation dynamic, with white workers  on the top rung of the ladder in each sector. The wealth gap is widening.People of color have been reduced to being consumers of food instead of major producers or contributors to the realm of food and agriculture.  People from dominant groups silence others and speak for entire communities through codified systems.

What will we do for 6 hours?
We will get a clear understanding of RACE in the U.S as a political and social construct, nothing to do with biology as so many of us are trained, explore Racism in the Food system, get clear on commonly used terms i.e RACE,POWER,FOOD SYSTEM,PRIVILEGE,PREJUDICE,IDENTITY, STRUCTURAL RACISM,INTERNALIZED RACISM,EMPOWER and their meanings and examine the intricate dance between internal, institutional and Structural Racism. Look inside ourselves to understand the role we play and utilize sound healing to clear the imbalances and disturbances in the environment that RACISM clusters.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE HUMAN RACE ARE WELCOME IN THIS CONTAINER.
This workday involves a communal council and sound healing release circle.
WE’LL TALK IT OUT,DRAW IT OUT and DRUM IT OUT!

PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME AS DOORS WILL CLOSE BY 10:10am
BRING NOTEBOOKS, ANCESTRAL TRINKETS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL SAFE, WATER, TISSUES, DRUMS AND SHAKERS.
What this workshop is NOT!
A debate for the smartest and quickest thinkers, an exercise in denial, an exercise in blame or shame.
